I don’t even know how to explain this match up in the Joel Bracket. The #15 pick of Dan, Super Mario Bros. 2 is still alive and the #5 pick of Jeff, Shadowgate still has a heart beat. The #1 seed Contra should of had the easiest road to the Final Four especially with the hodge podge of games that are good but not great all landing in this bracket. The R.C. Pro AM, Ninja Gaiden 2, Friday the 13th, Dragon Warrior, Zelda 2 (the adventure of Link) and Blaster Master should of been an easy path for Contra but they blew it big time. This is a shame because if Super Mario Bros. (the original), Gauntlet, Wizards and Warriors or TMNT land in this bracket they easily make the Final Four. Instead those games get bounced in the sweet 16 or have to face off in the Elite 8 versus a high quality game.
