The Carson Bracket is easily the toughest bracket of the tournament. The second round match ups are killers. Good Luck making your choices it will not be easy!
The #1 seed Blazing Saddles gets Rodney Dangerfield #8 seed Back to School. Two older movies that some of the younger fans might not know as well but for anyone over the age 35 this is going to be a really tough. Their possible opponent in the sweet sixteen is #4 seed Monty Python Holy Grail and #5 Great Outdoors. John Candy looks to hang on with only 3 movies left in the tournament and if we learned anything from this movie is when it comes to a contest, any contest….you don’t mess with John Candy!
The second movie in this bracket for John Candy is #6 Uncle Buck who gets the #3 seed Tommy Boy. Holy Schnikes!!!! I am not sure I can pick between these two movies. Chris Farley at his finest and possibly my most quoted movie. Then you have Uncle Buck and his degenerate gambler ways trying to save a family. This movie influenced the part in my book Code Blood Red when Richie and Bill use the drill to disengage the locks to get on the stage to do recon on super terrrorist Ali Armeni. The last match up of round two features #2 seed Spaceballs vs. #10 Wedding Crashers. John Candy’s best hope might be his part as Barf (full name Barfolemew) as Lone Starr’s sidekick.
A huge round of match ups that could see the ouster of all the Mel Brooks movies if there are upsets. Please let at least one Mel movie survive!
