Christmas Bracket Madness…it’s not just hoops anymore

What’s better than sports, movies and Christmas? Not much so with the help of my brother Dan, actually all his doing, we have combined all those favorites into one. THE CHRISTMAS BRACKET MADNESS TOURNAMENT!!!!

Here is how it works. There are 76 Christmas movies that have been seeded into 4 tournament brackets (Elf, Griswold, Scrooged and Ralphie), much like the college basketball tournament. The movies will be in head to head competition according to seeding with the movies getting the most votes earning the right to survive and advance. (You can vote by leaving a comment with your picks or somehow getting on my brother Daniel Belanger facebook page and liking the movie match up of the day)

Here is the schedule and location of events from November 1st until Christmas in the battle for the Christmas Bracket Madness Championship of 2014.

November 1st through the 7th play in matches will take place to get the field down to 64 movies. These matchups will take place at Christmas Tree Shops all around New England. Good chance this is the only place you can find these movies buried at the bottom of the super large dvd bin near the check out lanes.

First round Games November 9th-November 24 with two match ups taking place every day.

Second Round games November 25th – December 10th with one match each day.

Here are the sites for the 1st and 2nd round games for each bracket. (The sites are a hint for which movies are the #1 and #2 seeds for each bracket)

The Ralphie Bracket – Higbees Department Store and Bedford Falls

The Elf Bracket – The North Pole Workshop and Snowy Mount Crumpit

The Scrooged Bracket – The Frisbee Show Studio and the McCallister House

The Griswold Bracket – Uncle Eddies RV and the North Pole

Sweet 16 Games will take place from December 11th until December 18th with one match up per day.

The Elite 8 games will take place from 12/19 through 12/22, one match up per day, here are the sites for each bracket.

The Scrooged Bracket – IBC Network Headquarters

The Griswold Bracket – the Griswold residence in Chicago

The Final Four and Championship will take place between 12/23 and Christmas at Madison Square Garden (only 10 blocks away from 34th Street!!!)
